ABOUT ALLISON
Photography and being behind the lens of a camera has been a central part of who I am for as long as I can remember. For more than 15 years I’ve captured everything from the details of flowers to special moments with family. What started as a personal passion laid the groundwork for my career as a documentary style photographer. Over the years I’ve run a blog that featured my own photography. That led me to freelance product photography for a range of brands. More recently, I’ve had the privilege of working behind the scenes for a world-class wedding photographer. What began as a hobby has seamlessly evolved through my education and professional experiences. For me, photography is more than just my career – it’s the epitome of a natural path.

ABOUT THE APPROACH
Being in front of a camera can be a lot of pressure. but if looking back on photos brings happiness, shouldn’t the experience of capturing those photos also be joyful?
My approach is to make you feel comfortable and excited from the very beginning. I do this by removing the unknowns and pressure. I will:
Take the guess work out of booking your photography session
Help you plan and prepare for your session so that you know it is tailored to you
Help you get comfortable in front of the camera and guide you through any posing
Make sure you know what to expect after your session

I do this through documentary style photography with a touch of editorial finesse. Documentary photography focuses on capturing real, candid moments. Editorial photography is posed, but not traditional. Blending these two styles will give you a gallery that authentically tells your story in an artful way.

ABOUT THE PRocess
STEP 01
Booking
– Pick your date. You can simply select a date and time that works for you through my calendar or you can reach out to me directly to find a time.
– Choose your package. If you’re unsure which package is right for you, let me know and I’m happy to help you decide.
– Sign contract and place deposit. Next, you’ll receive a contract and invoice. Your signed contract and deposit guarantee that your date remains secured. The remaining balance is due 7 days prior to your session.
STEP 02
Planning + Preparing
– Fill out a questionnaire. You’ll receive a questionnaire to your email. Your answers to the questions will help me learn more about you and what you’re looking for in your photo session.
– Curate the vision for your session. If you already have a clear idea of what you want from your photos, let me know and we’ll make it happen! If you want to work together on this, we’ll use your questionnaire to cover everything from choosing a location to planning outfits to honing in on what emotions you want your photos to portray.
STEP 03
The Session
Time for your photo shoot. Now we get together and have fun taking photos! If having your photo taken intimidates you, don’t worry. I’ll help you loosen up and get comfortable in front of the camera. I’ll give plenty of prompts for you to follow that will allow us tocapture your genuine connection and I’ll guide you through any posing that may be necessary.
STEP 04
Gallery Delivery
You’ll receive your gallery a few weeks after your session. I’ll edit and put final touches on your photos and then deliver them to you in an online gallery. The gallery will be sent to your email with instructions on how to download, save and print your photos. The time it will take to complete your photos depends on the package you selected.
